Forex sessions
Forex trades around the clock from Sunday evening to Friday evening (New York time), handed from Sydney to Tokyo, London and New York. Spreads are tightest and moves biggest when London and New York overlap.
Futures hours
CME Globex opens Sunday at 6pm New York time and closes Friday at 5pm, with a one-hour break every day from 5pm to 6pm. Volume is highest during the New York stock session, 9:30am to 4pm.
Prop firm rules
Most futures prop firms want you flat before the daily close, and many forex firms limit trading around high-impact news or over the weekend. Check the rules on each plan page before you hold a trade.
